PRINCESS TERUNGO

Once upon a time, there was a wonderful kingdom which had a lot of eggplants. In this kingdom, eggplant was also called as terungo. Hence, this kingdom was more famous with The Terungo Kingdom. In this kingdom, the king and the queen had a very beautiful daughter whose name was Sayuri Green. One day, the king and the queen held a party to celebrate Sayuri’s first birthday. All of the people in this kingdom were invited in this party.

The Queen : “Honey, look! Everyone is very happy in our daughter’s birthday party.”
The King : “Yes, I can see that. But we are the happiest people as Sayuri Green’s parent.”

While the king and the queen were talking, a good fairy came to them.

Wortela Fairy : “Good evening, your majesty! I am very happy in Princess Sayuri first birthday. And as a present, I will bless her with Beauty, Brain and Behavior as long as she lives.”
The King : “thank you for your present, fairy.”

Suddenly Nok Niyon Broke into the party with her flying broom. She entered the room with laughing. Her laugh was very loud and it frightened all the people in that room.

Nok Niyon : “Hihihi….. I come uninvited and I go home flying on my broom by myself.”
The King : “What do you want here? Do you just want to make us scared? We never invite you.”
Nok Niyon : “So what, I don’t care. It’s your fault you don’t invite me. Hihihi…. Anyway I want to party and I looove party.”
The King : “You better go from this place. Now!!!!!”
Nok Niyon : “How dare you kick such a gorgeous fairy like me, do you know who I am?”
The King : “I don’t know and I don’t want to know.”
Nok Niyon : “I am Nok Niyon, I am the most powerful evil fairy, and this is my territory.”
The King : “I don’t care.”
Nok Niyon : “Damn you, by the power of darkness I curse your daughter. When she is 17 years old, your daughter will stumble on a stone and it will make her die. Wes … hewes …hewes…. Crot …. Crooot.”
The Queen : “Oh honey, what should we do? I don’t want to loose our only daughter; this is all your fault.”
The King : “I am sorry, honey.”
The Queen : “Wortela Fairy, please help my daughter! I beg you.”
The King : “Help us dear Fairy! I know that you can heal my daughter.”
Wortela Fairy : “Alright, I may not be able to wipe the curse completely, but I can lighten the curse. She will not die, but she will fall into a deep sleep and she will wake up if there is a prince who smacks her nose with a golden terungo.”
The King : “thank you, Fairy.”

Suddenly the fairy’s cell phone rang.

Wortela Fairy : “Hallo!! Okay, just a minute. I have to go now. Take a good care of her, alright?”
The King : “Where do you want to go anyway?”
Wortela Fairy : “Even a fairy needs to go clubbing, adios amigos.”

16 years later. Everywhere Sayuri wanted to go, she was always accompanied with her mother. The Queen always took care of Sayuri so that she would not stumble on a stone.

Sayuri Green : “Mother, I am not a child anymore. I am 17 years old and I can walk by myself, I don’t need to be supported.”
The Queen : “My dear child, you are my only daughter. That’s why I have to take a very good care of you.”
Sayuri Green : “Is there something that you hide from me, mother?”
The Queen : “I never hide anything to you, my daughter.”
Sayuri Green : “I don’t know why, but I’m feeling that you lie to me.”
The Queen : “I swear to you, my child! I don’t have anything to hide. Oh! I remember there’s a bud of rose in the royal garden. Wait here for a minute; let me take it for you.”
Sayuri Green : “Alright, mother. Thank you.”

Meanwhile Nok Niyon was starting to feel impatient to see that Sayuri Green hadn’t died yet. She planned to trick Sayuri by disguising herself to be The Queen.

False Queen : “Sayuri…. Sayuri…. Help me, my child. My leg hurts a lot, hurry up dear! I can’t take it anymore.”
Sayuri Green : “I am coming, dear mother ….. Ouch! What is this?”
The Queen : “This rose is very beautiful, just like you Sayur…... oh no!! Sayuri…. Sayuriiii!”
Nok Niyon : “Hihihihi… poor you, Sayuri. Hihihi… enjoy your death. Hihihi…..”

After Nok Niyon left them, The King came in a hurry.

The King : “My daughter…. What happened to my daughter?”
The Queen : “It is all Nok Niyon’s fault, honey.”
The King : “Then it’s time for us to give an announcement to everyone in this kingdom.”
The Queen : “Yes, honey. I think so. Come on! What are you waiting for? Let’s go to the Royal Field”
The King : “Wait a minute; I must put on my glasses. I don’t wanna be blinded by the glare”
At the Royal Field

The King : “Announcement…. Announcement……. To all the citizens of Terungo Kingdom. Our Princess Sayuri Green needs your help, and there’s a reward for whoever that can wake her from her sleep. If he’s a boy, he will marry my daughter. But if she’s a girl I absolutely will marry her.”
The Queen : “Whaaaatttt!!! How dare you do this to me! If you get married again, I will make you sleep like our daughter right now.”
The King : “Relax, honey! I just slipped my tongue. My heart is just for you, baby. Let me make it right, if she’s a girl she will be Sayuri’s sister.”

After the announcement, everyone was going home including a handsome farmer who lived in a village. He couldn’t stop thinking about what happened with Princess Sayuri. He wanted to help but there’s nothing that he can do.

Farmer : “Is it true that Princess Sayuri is beautiful, kind and wise? If that so, I have to help her, but how…….?”

Suddenly…….

Wortela Fairy : “Hey, handsome!”
Farmer : “Who are you? What do you want?”
Wortela Fairy : “Don’t be scared, handsome! I know that you want to save Princess Sayuri Green. That’s why I come here. I want to help you, handsome.”
Farmer : “How do you know what I want? Do you read my mind?”
Wortela Fairy : “Shut up, and don’t think about that. All you have to do now is to save The Princess. Hurry up, handsome.”
Farmer : “Stop calling me handsome and anyway how I can save her, I am not a doctor.”
Wortela Fairy : “I am a fairy, handsome. I can do everything I want to do. Just wrap one of your terungo with this cloth, don’t ever unwrap it before you are in Princess Sayuri Green’s room. After that smack her nose with your terungo. Remember smack her nose with a heart full of pure love. Hurry up, handsome.”
Farmer : “What? What do you mean? Fairy… Fairy…..? oh well... let me think of it on a way to The Royal Palace.”

After Farmer arrived at The Royal Palace, he went straight to face The King and The Queen.

Farmer : “Good morning, your majesty. I am one of your citizens and I want to help Princess Sayuri Green if your majesty allowed me to help.”
The King : “Are you sure you can wake her up from her deep sleep?”
Farmer : “Yes, of course. I am sure.”
The Queen : “Do you know the consequences if you fail?”
Farmer : “Yes I do.”
The King : “Very well, we’ll take you to her room.”

After a moment, they arrived in Princess Sayuri Green’s room.

Farmer : “Excuse me, Your Majesty. I need to be alone with the princess in this room during the medication.”
The King : “Alright, if that what you want.”

After everyone was out except Princess Sayuri and Farmer, he took his terungo and thought for a moment.

Farmer : “Oh my god you are very beautiful, Princess. I hope I can heal you.”

Suddenly…………..

Nok Niyon : “Hihihi… You can never wake her up, young man.”
Farmer : “You must be the one who curse her. Damn you, witch.”
Nok Niyon : “Hihihi… if stand on my way, I’ll curse you to be a frog.”
Farmer : “I am not afraid of you, you ugly, stupid, stinky witch and you look like a stinky fly…..”
Nok Niyon : “Please stop don’t mock me again, I hate when someone mock me because I can’t mock him back.”
Farmer : “I won’t stop until you leave this kingdom and never disturb anyone again.”
Nok Niyon : “Okay, okay, I give up, I give up, and I’m going right now.”

After Nok Niyon went away, Farmer unwrap his terungo.

Farmer : “Wow, this is amazing, how can my ordinary terungo become a golden terungo? But that’s fine. I have to smack Princess Sayuri with this terungo.”

After he smacked Princess Sayuri Green’s nose with his golden terungo, the princess started to open her eyes.

Sayuri Green : “Where am I? Who are you?”
Farmer : “You are in your room. I have set you free from Nok Niyon’s spell that make you fall into a deep sleep.”
Sayuri Green : “Is that true? Are you really the one who heals me?”
Farmer : “Yup, that’s right.”
Sayuri Green : “Thanks a lot.”
Farmer : “We better go to your parents, they must be waiting us.”



In the Royal Hall The King and The Queen looked very worried

The Queen : “Honey, what took them so long?”
The King : “I don’t know, honey.”
Wortela Fairy : “Relax, Your Majesty.”
The King : “Are you sure they alright, Fairy?”
Wortela Fairy : “Yup, I am sure that Princess Sayuri Green is healed right now.”
Sayuri Green : “Mother…… Father…….”
The Queen : “My daughter!!! Are you okay, dear?”
Sayuri Green : “Yes, mother. And this is all because of that farmer.”
The King : “Thank you, young man. What’s your name?”
Farmer : “My name is Jack-O, but most of my friends called me Joko.”
Wortela Fairy : “Thank you very much, Prince Joko. You have saved our Princess.”
Farmer : “You??? How can you be here? How can you know who I really am?”
Wortela Fairy : “Your Majesty, this young man is actually a prince from The Dureno Kingdom. He disguise into a poor farmer to find his true love.”
The King : “I don’t care if he’s a prince or just a poor farmer because a promise is a promise and my promise to make him marry my daughter.”
Farmer : “Thank you very much, Your Majesty! May I speak to Princess Sayuri?”
The King : “Go ahead.”
Farmer : “Princess, since the minute I saw your face I know that you could be my Terungo Princess. I love you, Princess.”
Sayuri Green : “That’s sooo sweeeeet…….. I love you too, baby.”

Finally, Princess Sayuri Green could be brought back to live by smacking her nose with the golden terungo. That is why Princess Sayuri Green was also called as Princess Terungo and they live happily ever after.
